Different tones

The decrepit trees drooped over, with a saddening sag. There was a lake, too cold to enter, and dark, almost forbidding. The algae growing on the top made me want to stay away nevertheless. A breeze rushed in between the trees, like the water it was also chilling. The cyprus trees were not tightly packed,  but still left an uneasy feeling, as if they were ensnaring the beach, trapping those who made the trek to catch a glimpse of the lake. It left me with a feeling of uneasiness, knowing that if something happened I would be alone.

It was serene, a lake in the middle of the forest. Surrounding the shimmering water were the cyprus trees, that had been there for generations, able to witness all that had taken place by the waterfront. There was wildlife all around, almost unafraid of the human who had appeared in their habitat. The lake was a long journey from the road, but it was soothing, being away from everything happening in my life. There was a gentle breeze, very soothing. When I was there, I felt isolated from everything around me. All the problems and worrying was gone.
